Need Apartments? Salt Lake City Has 3 Wonderful Communities With Apartments That Want to Meet You

If you are looking for apartments in Salt Lake City, check out these great communities. All are within minutes of downtown, but still close enough to enjoy the outdoor wonders of Utah. These communities all have a special feel to them, and they happen to be some of the more liberal neighborhoods in the area.

Capitol Hill

Capitol Hill gets its name from the Utah State Capitol overlooking downtown. Capitol Hill is a small community with 8,003 residents. The hill slopes down to the south so that the entire Salt Lake City area is impressively seen from Capitol Hill, with the Great Salt Lake glistening miles to the west. The capitol grounds are a beautiful place for a picnic on a sunny day or an evening stroll.

The Marmalade District in Capitol Hill is one of the most architecturally diverse Utah residential neighborhoods. It is called Marmalade Hill because the streets are named after fruit trees used in making jam such as apricot, quince and almond.

During the summer, the Capitol Preservation Board offers movies under the stars shown on a blowup screen on the south lawn of Capitol Building, as well as Capitol Discovery Day — a day to come and see the Capitol Building and enjoy fun games and activities. Plus, Capitol Hill is right next to the mouth of City Creek Canyon, a beautiful area for hikers, runners, and cyclists.

Average apartment rent for Capitol Hill is $659, a real bargain for all the history and diversity of this community.

The Avenues

The Avenues is a neighborhood in Salt Lake City with a population of 12,243 and gets its name from the perfectly grid-like roads called avenues and streets. Built on the benches of the Wasatch Mountains, the neighborhood starts on South Temple Street and from there the neighborhood climbs up on the slopes of the mountain. The Avenues is home to young professionals who prefer this somewhat highbrow area because of the culture and the proximity to downtown. Average apartment rent is $1,079.

Sugarhouse

Sugarhouse is one of my favorite places in Salt Lake City, plus, the apartments here are fantastic. The entire area is vibrant and friendly, with great shopping areas and wonderful dining. The parks are always alive with people enjoying the outdoors. Sugarhouse is only minutes away from Salt Lake City and all its sights. The neighborhood’s population is 31,369 and it is the site of Westminster College. Average apartment rent is only $761.

Come and visit these beautiful communities and I think you’ll want to rent apartments in Salt Lake City — these are some of my favorite places. Happy apartment hunting!
